Claws!!! Somehow, even though these claws are on lockdown inside their vials, I still have an irrational fear of them pinching me. Like, if I were swimming and saw one of these in the water with me...I'd fucking TURN AND BURN. No shit. I'm very suspect of invading the territories of water-dwelling creatures, and it's mostly because I HATE surprises. (Yes, ANY kind of surprises.) If you told me that a fish was going to bite me, held the fish up to my leg and I knew exactly when the bite was coming, I could handle it. But only if I knew it was coming. However, if I was just minding my own business hanging out in the ocean and a fish surprise-attacked me, I would lose my shit. No surprises. Ever. Even if they're good.
By purchasing this item, you will receive one preserved crayfish claw (in a vial), chosen at random. You will not necessarily receive one of the claws pictured above, but most look nearly identical, so the photos are a very close representation of what your claw will look like.
Don't worry, I didn't kill this--it was dead when we met. I'm not a monster, just a weirdo.
This claw comes in a clear specimen vial with a black lid.
**As with all of my wet specimens, this specimen has been thoroughly preserved. The tissues have undergone fixation in formalin by both injection and submersion, which prevents postmortem decay. This fixation process terminates any ongoing biochemical reactions so that the tissues won't rot or decay. Rest assured that this specimen has been professionally preserved.
**This item will be shipped WITHOUT liquid preservative due to shipping regulations, but will be secured in the jar with bubble wrap or styrofoam peanuts to protect it. You will have to add your own preservative (holding solution) to the jar when it arrives in the mail. Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) will work just fine as a holding solution (since it has already been thoroughly preserved in formalin), and it can be found at your local drug store or Walmart. I will help you with any questions you may have about what to do when it arrives, so just ask me!
